 1. Comica CVM-WM100

The Comica CVM-WM100 is a great dual lavalier lapel mic system that comes with everything you need to get started. Currently running below $200, this system is an excellent value for the low price. However, you can also purchase this system with dual transmitters and lapel dual microphones.

The most surprising thing about this unit, in my opinion, is the fantastic range of audio. At first glance, I had a hard time believing the range was 328 feet like it was marketed. We tested it out and were shocked by the results. Not only does it offer roughly 328 feet of range, but the audio remains strong and clear at all times within the long distance.

There are a few exceptions. There are a few cutouts if you’re moving a lot after 250 feet. Also, the range is reduced to roughly 60 feet in extremely cold conditions.

Speaking of the audio, the Comica CVM-WM100 has an excellent sound quality for the low price. It is very good at rejecting background noise and wind in basically every environment. To maximize the sound quality in post-editing, I slightly reduced the highs and a minor boost in the low mids. In comparison to the price, the overall quality of sound is excellent. Rule of thumb, any lavalier is better than no lavalier for a video.

There are a few downsides that I noticed about the WM100. For one, you may encounter a few issues with phasing at first. You may need to play with the levels for a few minutes until you get it right. Another thing, it does not have a mid-side mode to increase stereo width. However, most lav systems in this low-budget price range do not offer that feature anyway. Lastly, both units are made of plastic. However, it is a relatively sturdy plastic build!

Overall, the few downsides I just mentioned are about standard for a lav system in this price range. If you’re looking for a reliable low-budget unit that produces good range and audio after a few adjustments, the Comica CVM-WM100 is an excellent choice!

This dual lapel mic system has a decent range of 80 feet. While this system can go a bit further than 80 feet, past that amount increases pops and cutouts. In my experience, it’s best to stay with 80 feet for optimal audio quality. 

With a wide range of selectable frequencies, this system has a low chance of experiencing signal interference. In terms of sound quality, this mic is very good for the low price. In my experience, it’s best to further the distance of the mic from your mouth by at least 1 foot. Anywhere closer than one foot, the audio gets a bit distorted. Overall, the Alvoxcon TG2 is a fantastic choice for anyone in need of a dual lavalier microphone system at a low budget.

Considering this unit has a much higher battery life than the average lapel mic system, you will surely cut your annual battery cost. Both the lavalier and headset microphones have very good audio quality for the low price.

When first plugged in, the audio needs a bit of EQ. After widening the lows a bit, it sounds just right. The sound is very clear without any buzzes, cracks, or distortion.

Overall, I highly recommend the innopow WM-333B for anyone in need of a dual lavalier or dual headset microphone system. It is a stellar bang for the buck and will surely fulfill your needs.

I must say, I was definitely surprised by the high quality compared to the low price with this one. The affordable FotoWelt WM-200-100 is an incredible dual lavalier microphone system with two transmitters and one receiver. Don’t be fooled by the pictures, you get both lapel microphones for both transmitters with the purchase. Along with all the cables you need to get started, you also get a sturdy and well-designed travel case with the purchase as well.

This is yet another great system for interviews between two people. Not only one of the highest-rated on the market, but it’s also the cheapest dual lapel mic system on this list. With roughly 300 feet of range, you’re going to easily have more than enough room for most applications. At long distances, you will not have any breaks in the audio or cutouts.

The sound quality is surprisingly good. I wasn’t expecting the audio to be natural and well-balanced between the frequency spectrum. Considering we had no issues, it also does a fine job with feedback rejection. Regardless of how loud you are or get, this mic does a great job minimizing clipping.

The only downside that I noticed about the FotoWelt WM-200-100 is the plastic build. However, there are a few things to keep in mind about the plastic build quality. For one, the only way that this lapel mic system can be at the low-price is due to the plastic build. Transmitters and receivers with metal construction cost much more to create, thus, the system is priced higher.

Another thing to keep in mind is the transmitter and receiver are both made of strong and more durable plastic. I consider this system to have a decent build quality. As long as you take care of your equipment, it should last you an extremely long time. I also find the receiver’s phone clamps incredibly unique and useful. It allows you to easily attach the receiver directly to your smartphone without any hassle. On the front of the receiver’s face is a switch that shows a phone or camera. Make sure the switch is facing whichever type of device you are using. 

Of the 12 channels, you are easily able to pick a clear signal without interference. Another essential feature is its low-cut filter for reducing unwanted rumble or muddy frequencies. In my experience, using the low-cut filter was highly beneficial for outside windy shots.

While the recorded audio reduced wind noise with the low-cut, I was able to boost the lows back to natural audio in post-production without the boomy wind. 

To my ears, the overall audio quality is superb. I am highly impressed with all aspects of the sound quality. Especially in comparison with the majority of the lavalier mic system in or above this price range.

To best describe the audio, it’s well-balanced, even-toned, produces a very natural and crisp sound, and does not need a much post-production EQ at all. In my opinion, this lavalier mic sound quality can stand toe-to-toe with the dual wireless mic systems twice the price. Overall, I highly recommend the comica CVM-WS60 dual lavalier mic system for smartphones, mirrorless cameras, and DSLR cameras.
