But why only listen to 2/3rds of the audio spectrum with a bass lacking soundbar? That’s where the added subwoofer with the soundbar comes in! After extensive research and testing, we formulated a list of the nine best TV soundbars with a subwoofer on the market.

6. JBL Bar 5.1

Next in line, the JBL Bar 5.1 is an excellent budget-friendly soundbar that also comes with a subwoofer for deep bass. Just recently, JBL slashed $200 off the price, making it an even better value than it already was. It provides an immense 550 Watts of power.

Not only does it provide 4K pass-through with HDR 10, but it’s also one of the cheapest soundbars on the market with Dolby Vision. The soundbar produces excellent clarity of audio without a hint of distortion. Even at max volume, the sound remains crystal clear.

One of our favorite features is the 10-inch subwoofers. It produces an enormous bass sound. You will be more than satisfied with the overall low-end at the price. It also has built-in Chromecast, WiFi, Bluetooth capabilities, and Airplay 2. The last impressive feature worth mentioning is its virtual surround sound.

I noticed a few downsides with this soundbar. For one, it’s slightly difficult to set up. That issue can be resolved by paying $76 more on expert installation on Amazon. Also, depending on what movie your watching, the sound can jump up and down on volume too quickly. In other words, words can be a bit too low in volume, while an explosion is a bit too loud. But Overall, the JBL Bar 5.1 is a great value soundbar running below $400.

With a substantially better sound than the low price, we believe it’s a near-flawless bang for the buck and recommend it to anyone on a budget.

Users Say: “I like that on the remote are buttons for 7 different sound settings. I use the cinema, sports, music, and news. It will get loud and still sound pure. Not loud enough to shred the speakers but more than any adult could want. My only complaint is it is supposed to switch itself off and on with the TV. Mine only switches off and I have to restart it every time. there is a setting to change but it is NOT in the instruction manual. It was in the setup sheet that got tossed after I set it up. I could probably find the instruction online but most of the time I just use the TV sound so no big deal.”

Users Say: “This sub-woofer and soundbar pairing works very well in my master bedroom. I’m not sure if they would work as well in a large living room but I can tell you without a doubt that they work fantastic in a 24′ x 30′ bedroom space. Maybe you can figure out the size of your room based on that and determine whether or not you’d like to move forward. The sound is very clean, the bass is plenty. Don’t expect this product’s base to shake the paint off your walls. For what it is supposed to do, it does it. If you want more, you’re going to need to move more air and get a much bigger sub-woofer. But for movies at night, very good.”

It has a solid but slim design that looks nice under the TV. Compared to the affordable price, the sound quality over-delivers.

The surround-sound mode produces a dramatic 3D effect with much louder volumes; it’s impressive and fun after getting used to it. Slim design fits nicely under most bigger TVs.
